Discourses, Practices, Institutions, Subjects&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/doingtransitions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Programme-Doing-Transitions-Conference_mit-Moderationen.pdf\"><strong>Conference programme (pdf)<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Transition research has developed and diversified across different\u00a0disciplines, epistemological interests and approaches as well as\u00a0research methodologies. Many studies conceive of transitions as linear\u00a0steps in the life course from one stage to another. They share the\u00a0understanding that success means mastering these challenges and thus\u00a0offer an individualised view of transitions. The relationship, however,\u00a0is not so straightforward. Transitions are processes with ups and downs,\u00a0loops and circles, steps forward and back that result from interactions\u00a0between various actors. \u2018Doing Transitions\u2019 accordingly means to\u00a0conceive of transitions as emerging from the interplay between\u00a0discursive, institutional, and individual practices.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Since 2017, the Research Training Group, \u2018Doing Transitions\u2019, funded by\u00a0the German Research Association (DFG), has been working on a deeper\u00a0understanding of how transitions emerge across the life course. Early\u00a0career researchers work on research questions such as: How do\u00a0individuals, institutions, and discourses contribute to the formation of\u00a0transition? What is the meaning of time, space, and bodies in this\u00a0process? How are difference and inequality reproduced in the formation\u00a0of life course transitions?<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The aim of this conference is to present the Research Training Group\u2019s\u00a0affiliated projects and to discuss them with international scholars in\u00a0the field and thereby develop new ideas and perspectives for research on\u00a0the processing of transitions. Researchers, students, and practitioners\u00a0with an interest in transition research as well as in related areas are\u00a0invited to discuss the meanings and implications of \u2018Doing
