The international conference “Situating Transitions: New Horizons in Research of Life Course Transitions”<\/strong>, which will take place a<\/strong>t the University of T\u00fcbingen<\/strong>, marks the final event of the collaborative research training group Doing Transitions, funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) since 2017.<\/p>\n

With this conference, we take up the ongoing debate on reflexive research of life course transitions. In particular, we want to open transition studies for global south perspectives and discuss to what extent neighbouring fields of research such as gender, family, or educational studies benefit from reflexive transition studies. The program features keynote lectures by Raka Ray, Elizabeth Shove, Felipe Torres, Maria Keil, and Kevin St\u00fctzel<\/strong>, as well as 46 presentations<\/strong> in twelve panel sessions<\/strong>, offering a rich and diverse academic experience.<\/p>\n

Participants interested in joining the conference dinner at Tuesday evening (55,- Euro incl. food and drinks) have to pay the contribution in advance until 26.09.2025 at latest. <\/strong>Please note: An official confirmation about the payment will be sent by the conference team after payment has been received on the university account.<\/em><\/p>\n
